And the winners are…

The Scottish Gin Society was very proud to host the second Scottish Gin Awards ceremony in Glasgow.  The night more than lived up to the success of last year’s event, with the cream of Scottish Gin talent turning up to celebrate a fantastic year.

The Scottish Gin Society hosted the drinks reception, a Scottish Gin bar, expertly run by the Solid Liquids team, who did an amazing job serving hundreds of guests a range of expertly-mixed G&Ts on arrival.

Hosts Kaye Adams and Des Clarke set an upbeat tone for the night and music was provided by the fantastic 4 Poofs and a Piano, who started the dancing with a rendition of ‘It’s raining gin’. Speakers included The Scottish Gin Society’s Mhairi Elliott, who answered questions from the hosts and Chair of the Judging Panel, Alex Bruce, who praised the innovation in the Scottish Gin industry.

Stephen White, founder of The Scotish Gin Society presented the award for Distillery of the Year and praised the previous winning Distillery, Arbikie, in his speech, referring to the power the prestigious award holds to help distilleries grow and receive recognition

Stephen commented “I’m very pleased that we managed to build on the success we achieved at the very first Scottish Gin Awards last year. The landscape of Scottish Gin has changed dramatically in just one year and will continue to do so in 2019.
The Scottish Gin Awards has been highly instrumental in creating consumer awareness and a feeling amongst our distillers that we really are on course to establish ‘Scottish Gin The Brand’ not just in Scotland and the rest of the U.K. but also around the world. We had a brilliant night hosting the Awards and look forward with excitement to next year”
