Big Big Gin Festival was a big big hit

Last weekend, The Corn Exchange, Edinburgh hosted and ran The Big Big Gin Festival, a chance for gin-lovers in the Scottish capital to try some new and exciting gins, from a selection of over 100 on offer.

The Scottish Gin Society team headed along on Friday night to see what was happening and experience the buzz of the event (and some of the gin) for ourselves.

The venue looked amazing, with regional gin bars around the perimeter of the main hall, displaying the range of gins on offer beautifully.  The staff were super friendly and helpful and live music added to the festival feel of the evening.  There were also food and craft stalls, a photo booth, cocktail bar, masterclasses and a dedicated meet the maker area.

It was nice to catch up with some of our gin friends at the event with Electric Spirit Co, Darnley’s Daffy’s, Edinburgh Gin, Tanqueray and St Andrew’s Gin Co among the Scottish Gin brands attending.

One of the many highlights for us was tasting the Darnley’s spiced gin punch – it was absolutely delicious and we’re going to share the recipe with you in the run-up to Christmas.

We were delighted to hear that both Saturday sessions sold out and we’re certain all the attendees enjoyed the festival as much as we did.  Congratulations to The Corn Exchange team on a very successful event.
