New Shetland Reel expression promises to be out of this world!

Shetland Reel is set to create a new expression of their original gin that will literally be out of this world!

On Sunday 14th July, Shetland Space Centre alongside B2Space will launch a stratospheric balloon into space, from Baltasound Airport in Unst – right next door to the Saxa Vord distillery where Shetland Reel Gin is produced. 

Alongside the usual trackers and control boards, the balloon will also contain a vacuum pack full of the Botanicals used to make Shetland Reel Original Gin. When it returns from its mission, that pack of botanicals will be used to make a small batch of gin that should be out of this world.
