Another global accolade for Aberdeenshire’s HRAFN GIN
You may not have heard of it, but the prestigious Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition is one of the biggest competitions for spirit producers in the world. This month, they revealed their 2019 winners and awarded HRAFN GIN ‘Thought & Memory’ a Silver Medal in the London Dry, Gin Category.
This is the second major accolade for HRAFN GIN ‘Thought & Memory’ in 2019 after it was awarded Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in March.
HRAFN GIN ‘Thought & Memory’, is produced by Raven Spirits of Aberdeenshire, and is now recognised as amongst the best in the world. The Scottish Gin Society is incredibly proud to see a Scottish Gin gaining such success on the global stage and heartily congratulate the team at Raven Spirits for their well-deserved success in 2019.
The annual HKIWSC awards, are an industry-noted mark of quality and excellence and provide the Asian market with the ultimate guide to purchasing wine and spirits which are sensitive to the Asian palate and cultural consumption patterns. Entries undergo a detailed level of scrutiny including double-blind tastings and technical analysis before being scored, with only those of the highest quality receiving recognition.
Callum Sim, founder and managing director of Raven Spirits Limited, said on the win:
“These awards set the benchmark for quality in Asia and this award further enhances HRAFN GIN’s international reputation”.
The international silver medal is the latest in an array of prestigious awards won by Raven Spirits since they released their first expressions in May 2018, including two Gold and a Silver in the International Gin Masters and a Gold in the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Raven Spirits produce HRAFN GIN ‘Thought & Memory’, HRAFN GIN ‘Valhalla’ and HRAFN GIN ‘Winter’.
