Limited edition Hydro Garden Gin released by 1881 Distillery

The stunning Scottish Gin Dstillery that’s home to our recent Featured Gin is 1881 Distillery, located in the idyllic grounds of Peebles hydro in The Scottish Borders. And they’ve recently released the first in their series of limited edition gin expressions – Hydro garden Gin.

Hydro Garden Gin is a special gin born from the botanical garden that lies in the grounds of the Distillery’s Hydro home. Once host to a tennis court, and now a botanical garden, it is filled full of natural, local botanicals that they use in many of their range of gins.

Dean, the head distiller wanted to create a summer gin, inspired by the natural setting that the 1881 team live in. Gorse, Elderflower and Rose all grow naturally around the hotel, and when combined, they create an incredibly refreshing summer gin.

Dean says:

The Nourishing soil of the Peebleshire Valley could only ever provide rich natural botanicals. Serve our Hydro Garden Gin with a premium tonic and a slice of lime to release the natural summer flavours wherever you are.
